If you dont have a car you can ride the local bus 06 to Ostia beach. Also bus 70 or other bus lines if you like to go to Rome Eur or Rome city. The train to Rome is near by at the Colombo Station.
South of Ostia you will find the beautiful beaches of Castelporziano (“green gates”) that extend between the Mediterranean scrub and the sea.
The city of Torvajanica, and then continuing the marine cities of Anzio and Nettuno, up to the enchanting beaches of Circeo.
From where you can embark for the island of Ponza.
On the Via del Mare you will find the fascinating Ostia Antica which, with its excavations and millenary ruins, is still today a point of great historical and artistic interest.
The archeological area is really well preserved and, specially in spring, walking among ruins surrounded by flowers and green is a pleasant and relaxing experience.
