Il sestante

On the remains of an ancient defense work called "Costrum Romano" or "Castle" the b & b IL SESTANTE is born. This historic palace, finely restored, was, at the beginning of the twentieth century, the Fishermen's residence of the place due to its proximity to the sea. Its structure is similar to that of adjacent Palazzetti, built alongside the other and intersected by narrow alleyways they give rise to "the way of the Borgo" today known as the "way of independence".
The origins of this street are ancient: in Roman times it connected Le Ville dei Nobili and Consoli to Flacca and Appia, later it was used as the only access road to the town Fortress (Old Gaeta or Medieval Gaeta) and, Until the middle of century ago was as already mentioned, inhabited by fishermen and peasants.
In B & B IL SESTANTE we tried to maintain the colors and tastes of that era, a life made of simple and genuine things, without sacrificing the comforts of the modern era. The renovation has been faithful to the original palace and the decor was crafted by skilled craftsmen using recycled materials.

The sextant offers 3 open space rooms of about 30 sqm, consisting of double bed, kitchenette and private bathroom. WiFi is free and is present throughout the property.
